Steel erection is now in full swing in the Monolith high bay. Lifting of the 18-tonne-steel beams is being performed from both the north and south sides in parallel, using large mobile cranes. At last count. there were SIX full arches, with support beams, up there!
Installation of filigree slabs on the 'Accelerator to Target' (A2T) vault is completed, and reinforcement for a top layer screed is in progress, while casting of the corner shielding inside the 'Drift to Target' (D2T) was completed using heavy concrete.
The last two slabs for the bottom slab on Experimental Hall 2 have been cast and concrete upstands are in progress, and grinding the joints between slabs of Experimental Hall 1 is ongoing. Excavation and piping for water and sewage in Laboratory 1A is currently ongoing and asphalt will be laid shortly.
The RFQ (Radio Frequency Quadrupole) for the Accelerator has arrived and installation inside the tunnel is currently ongoing.
The first cryomodule has now been rolled inside the Klystron Gallery bunker, the heavy door shut and installation works are currently in progress. Installation of the waveguide support structure and installations inside the stubs are still ongoing at a steady pace.
All pits and piping for electrical works and plumbing under the slab in the Waste Building have been completed. The ground level of the building has been equipped with blinding, and a base slab is planned for first casting later this month.
