The ISSE workshop 2024 is the 12th meeting in a series, which was initiated by Michael Meissner in Berlin, 1999. The workshop is held under the patronage of the International Society for Sample Environment (ISSE) and is hosted by the MAX IV Laboratory and the European Spallation Source (ESS), Lund. The focus of the workshop is on two main topics:

• Sample environments at neutron scattering facilities
• Sample environments at synchrotron radiation facilities
