Investigating the past to prepare for the future

10 OCT 2012
In September archeologists from the Swedish National Heritage Board started to investigate the land where ESS will be built. Using spades and manual labour the archeologists will investigate 3 hectare to find out if the land contains traces of past human activities.

So far the investigation has resulted in, among other things, a button from a military uniform from the 17th century, and a grave from the 3rd century.

The current archeological investigation is the second of three, to determine which areas that will be even more thoroughly investigated in the spring of 2013.
