Research Activities

I am fascinated by membrane proteins, bioenergetic systems, metals in biology and proton transfer across membranes. My particular systems of interest include Photosystem II, the photosynthetic membrane complex that harvests light and oxidizes water to oxygen, and the M2 protein from influenza virus A, a proton channel and antiviral drug target which facilitates both viral infection and viral budding.
