Last week at the construction site, steady progress continued at the Target Building.
The load-bearing towers around the Target Station Monolith are now covering the whole building. The purpose is to facilitate the formwork and reinforcement for the 2-meter thick high bay vault on top.
An overhead crane is being installed in A2T (Accelerator to Target), to be able to lift in the shielding steel to the beam dump. Vault form and reinforcement works have started on the west side of A2T.
At the Gallery Building (G02), concrete blocks for the Test Stand bunker will start arriving to site. Approximately 200 concrete blocks will be arriving via the Klystron Gallery loading hall with frequent deliveries being made every morning over a period of time.
More steelcores are arriving to site, to be placed in the Target Transport & Admin area - approximately 40 steelcores are to be installed.
