Target
Installation of the R6 bracket inside the Target Monolith continued last week. Brackets were mounted in a fixture and tightened with adjusting/positioning screws. Final welding is to be performed after alignment verification from the SAM (Survey & Alignment) team. A total of 20 brackets will be installed for the north sector and 22 on the south side. The purpose of these brackets is to hold the R6 steel pillars for the bunker frame, surrounding the Target Monolith, at a 6-metre radius. In the Active Cell, ESS Target Division are in progress with the stainless steel liner - steel plates that are to be mounted on all walls in the process and maintenance cells.
Steel structure work started for Experimental Hall 1, and installation of roof trusses continued for Hall 2. Erection of precast concrete for the NMX cave is due to begin, starting with the walls, which will be installed in four layers.
