Last week on the construction site, interior works including painting and piping began in the three-floor science lab building E04. Installation of the enormous sheet-metal roof over the long-range guide hall (E02) is also underway. Meanwhile, sandwich paneling of the lab building and long-range instrument hall (E01) continued.
In the Target Station area (D02), work began to reinforce the next level vault for the Active Cells structure, and some specially-designed large stainless steel ducts were installed. These voids are integrated into the concrete structure to serve as the exit point for activated material from the Target Station.
Installation of the Accelerator's (G01) phase reference line is nearly complete, and installation of the ion source continued as planned. Significant progress was made in the installation of the steel beam wave guide support structure that will run throughout the klystron gallery (G02). And finally, Test Stand 2, the Gallery Building’s (G02) permanent installation for site acceptance testing of LINAC components, is getting ready for action. Two klystrons are in place, while the first modulator will be delivered this week. The first cryomodule prototype testing is scheduled for July.
