Last week on the construction site, progress was swift on the E buildings. The guide hall roof is fanning out across the site and steel frame erection for the E03 lab began. Work resumed in the large E04 lab building, with progress marked on the parapet and curtain wall construction. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing works have already begun in E04 and E05.
The Target Station area (D02) was back in full reinforcement mode, with new steel and form work on the next-level Monolith and Active Cells area as well as the Utility area beyond Active Cells. Two bottom slabs were cast in the A2T area between the Target and Accelerator, and erection of the D05 substation building began.
New road works got underway around the site as well, including improvements to Circular Road and construction of the temporary road to the extended parking area in preparation for the full staff move to site.
