Last week on the construction site, a visit from Jack Frost brought his own icy challenges. Work halted at times to ensure safety for the crew. Just before the snow storm, crews managed to cast 90 cubic meters of concrete for the Monolith walls.
Detailed design drawings for MEP works in the Server Hall (H01) are anticipated soon, initiating the start of installation activities in the Central Utility Building server rooms. Fencing is going up along the berm of the Accelerator tunnel (G01), and excavation is happening along the Gallery Northern road for HV cabling and piping.
Inside the Accelerator tunnel, teams from ESS and Assemblin are working to install cables and connect the ion source and low energy beam transport (LEBT) to power outlets. A growing collection of piping, cable ladders, trestles and more will soon be installed by the Italian supplier TESI.
