Last week on the construction site, the first cryogenic emergency safety training with local rescue teams successfully took place in the Cryo-Compressor Building (G04).
In the Target substation building (D05) , the prefab concrete is now up, and roofing is ongoing. Reinforcement of the interim vault in the Active Cell area continued, with reinforcement of the base slab in the Dog Leg area leading up to Target and the Utility area soon to follow.
The first 2 base slabs of Experimental Hall 1 (D01) were cast, covering an area of 200 square meters in 500-millimetre thick concrete. An average of one slab casting per week is planned in D01 moving forward. Next is casting of the first base slab of Experimental Hall 2 (D03), and a week-long schedule of high pressure water-jet blasting in the lab building of Experimental Hall 1 (D04).
