At the ESS Construction site, steady progress is being made with the construction of the E-buildings. The erection of the superstructure is currently ongoing for Experimental Hall 3 (E03). Sandwich panels will follow in the second half of April and roofing works will commence by the end of May. Roofing is ongoing in Experimental Hall 3 (E01) and Guide Hall (E02), as well as parapet walls between these two parts of the E-buildings.
At the Target Building (D02), undercasting for waste pits and form reinforcement is in progress in the Active Cells area. Another casting of walls for the west Monolith was made last week and soon work will proceed to the hanging circular walls around the Monolith / Target wheel. When the walls on this level are completed, construction of the high bay vault can start.
Installation and commissioning activities are ongoing both in the Cryo-Compressor Building (G04) and the Coldbox hall of the Gallery Building (G02). Pure helium has arrived and has also flown in the pipes for testing purposes. Preparations for the test facility, Test Stand 2, are also ongoing.
