Last week on the construction site, the Accelerator’s (G01) Front End Building underwent preparations for next month’s delivery of the ion source and low-energy beam transport line, an in-kind contribution from Italy’s National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). In the tunnel, installation of the phase reference line, which will serve as part of the beam’s monitoring system, advanced. Further equipment installations took place in the Coldbox Hall (G02) and Cryo-Compressor Building (G04), both of which are filling up fast. The Sprinkler Building (H10) is progressing quickly toward completion as exterior cladding was installed simultaneously with the priming of the interior surface. Interior waterproofing will move forward in the weeks ahead. And in the Target Station area (D02), the casting of the heavy concrete Active Cells walls continued, with 250 cubic metres already poured.
