ESS building design takes home international innovation prize

LAS VEGAS – The design for ESS has been awarded first prize in the category 'Building Design, Large Projects' in the international AEC Excellence Awards 2019 prize-giving ceremony held in USA on Tuesday.

The collaboration between Skanska, Sweco Architects, ÅF Pöyry (now AFRY) covers the design, planning and project management of what will be the most modern and sustainable science facility of its kind in the world.

ESS is one of the largest scientific and technological infrastructure projects being built today and is expected to be operational by 2023.
