IFJ Pan to Host Superconductivity & Particle Accelerators Conference, 6-7 December in Kraków

Partner Event
The conference Superconductivity & Particle Accelerators will be held in Kraków at The Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences (IFJ PAN) on December 6-7, 2016.

The conference is devoted to research in the domain of superconductivity and its applications in science, as well as on research in the field of particle accelerators, conducted in Polish research institutions as well as by Polish scientists working in the international laboratories. It is a continuation of the previous conferences, held at the IFJ PAN in 2012 and 2014. The objective of this conference is to identify current and potential areas of research in superconductivity and particle accelerators, developed and possible to develop in Poland and to determine the needs in the infrastructure to support this research.

Superconductivity and its applications – a fundamental research in the field of superconductivity and their relation to chemistry and materials science.
Accelerators and large scientific facilities - review of Polish institutions participation in the international projects.
Large cryogenics installations – the cryogenic infrastructures used for research in the field of superconductivity.
Control systems & beam instrumentation – the integrated control systems and the beam diagnostics developments.
Special sessions
European XFEL – an overview of Polish in-kind contribution to the construction of the largest X-ray Free Electron Laser at DESY in Hamburg, Germany.
European Spallation Source – a session dedicated to the new European project located in Lund, Sweden.
ESS is contributing to the programme via the BrightnESS grant.
